With a double, Al Nasr defeat Al Bataeh

Al Nasr defeated Al Bataeh by two goals in the first leg of  ADIB Cup 16th round at Al Maktoum Stadium.

As a result of  Al Nasr's  dominance of the game and early advances into  Al-Bataeh goal, the team made a strong start in an effort to score first. Amran Al-Jassasi entered  Al-Bataeh penalty area in the third minute and crossed  the ball to Ryan Mendes, who shot but it was turned away by  Al-Bataeh goalkeeper. The most crucial opportunity of the first half was created by Adel Taarabt in the 12th minute with a strong shot that  Al-Bataeh goalkeeper faced difficulties stopping it.

Al-Nasr  players kept up their pressure by using fast play and an organized field spreading to try to sort out the defensive strategy used by Al-Bataeh. In the 18th minute, Ryan Mendes was able to open the scoring for Al Nasr by exchanging passes with Dembo Darboe, Mendes played the ball tin a beautiful way into Al Bataeh net.

Al-Nasr players kept trying to score  more goals, and in the 26th minute, Ryan Mendes' shot was saved by the Al-Bataeh goalkeeper after a pass from Hussein Mahdi.

Yaqoub Al Balooshi,  Al Nasr, added a second goal for his team in the 29th minute with a superb header after Tozi had taken a free kick.

 Adel Taarabt passed the ball, Rashid Omar played a strong shot that hit the crossbar in the 31st minute. Yaqoub Al Balooshi then nearly scored Al Nasr's third goal after pursuing the ball from Toz'si free kick.

In the added time of first half, Omar Gomaa was close to scoring the third goal after he went deep into Al Bataeh penalty area and shot the ball towards Al-Bataeh's goal. However, luck was on his side and the ball didn't go in.

A  cross from Adel Taarabt was deflected into a corner by the Al-Bataeh defence in the 52nd minute as Al Nasr players continued to try  score goals in the second half. In the 61st minute, Al Bataeh's goalkeeper  sent a ball to a corner after a powerful ball played by al nasr substitute Jean Claude .

Goalkeeper Abdullah Al-Tamimi made a save in the 64th minute on the a ball played by Joao Pedro of Al-Bataeh from a free kick. In the 78th minute, he  also also saved a header for Al Bataeh.

While Al-Bataeh was content with the defence, Al-Nasr players were not lucky to capitalize their dominance on the field , despite many attempts to score gaols .

The match ended Al Nasr won in the encounter, with a score of 2-0.
