Al Nasr Sign Norwegian Defender Marius Høibråten

Al Nasr Football Company has completed the signing of Norwegian defender Marius Høibråten on a contract extending for one and a half seasons, as part of the club’s plans to strengthen the first team during the upcoming period and enhance its defensive options. The player is known for his tactical versatility, as he is capable of playing both centre-back and left-back.

Høibråten brings with him extensive professional experience in Norwegian football, having represented several prominent clubs, including Lillestrøm, Strømsgodset, Sandefjord, and Bodø/Glimt, with whom he won the Norwegian League title twice in 2020 and 2021. He also featured with Bodø/Glimt in European competitions, most notably the UEFA Europa League in the 2022–2023 season and the UEFA Europa Conference League, where he made 15 appearances in the 2021–2022 edition and reached the quarter-finals, in addition to participating in the UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds during the 2021–2022 and 2022–2023 seasons.

At the Asian level, the player enjoyed a successful professional spell with Urawa Red Diamonds of Japan, during which he won the AFC Champions League 2021–2022. This achievement enabled him to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup 2023, as well as qualify for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, adding valuable continental and global experience to his career.
